Who am I? My name is Adam Burns and I actually come from a long career in eye care. I worked as an optician for 18+ years and have taught courses on spectacle fabrication at a local community college. A true DIY-Hard, In my free time I took on a multitude of remodeling jobs in our first two homes where I honed much of the skill and attention to detail I wield today. In the latter part of 2025, my wife received a career opportunity she couldn't pass up. After a lot of prayer & faith, we decided to move from our home state of Tennessee to start a new year and new life in Virginia. In this new season of life, my familial responsibilities would require much more flexibility than my previous career ever allowed for. So, after a lot more prayer & faith, I started Helping Hands Handyman to provide honest, dependable service while balancing what matters most — faith, family, and serving others well. As a husband, father and now business owner, faith and family are at the center of everything I do. I believe in treating every project with honesty, care, and attention to detail, guided by Colossians 3:23-24: “Whatever you do, do it heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”

I specialize in a variety of small jobs and maintenance services including drywall repair, painting, shelving, TV mounting, caulking, office and equipment assembly, play grounds, box gardens and more. I am fully insured and my goal is simple: provide dependable, high-quality work while serving the community with integrity & heart and I look forward to serving you.
